Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology

Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology

App State’s Kinesiology program (BS) prepares students to work in a variety of settings including the fitness/wellness industry or sport and human performance while other students pursue admission to graduate programs in Kinesiology, health professions such as medicine (MD/DO, PA), therapy (PT, OT) or Athletic Training. Undergraduate students are trained to examine the human body and understand the effects of physical activity on its function and adaptation. App State students learn through hands-on class activities, laboratories and internships.

Master of Science in Kinesiology

Master of Science in Kinesiology

App State’s graduate Kinesiology (MS) program prepares students to work in a variety of settings and offers three concentrations: Research, Clinical Exercise Physiology or Strength and Conditioning. The Research concentration prepares students for doctoral study or laboratory research. The Clinical Exercise Physiology concentration prepares students for careers in clinical exercise physiology, to transition into Ph.D./Professional degree programs (MD/DO, PA, OT, PT) or pursue clinical research. The Strength and Conditioning concentration prepares students for careers in strength and conditioning, sports performance or private industry.

Kinesiology Minor

The Kinesiology Minor at App State gives students who are not majoring in Kinesiology a solid foundation in human movement science and exercise physiology. The program offers flexibility and practical relevance for students pursuing diverse health, wellness, or professional development paths. It's a well‑structured addition for students seeking interdisciplinary knowledge in human performance.
