The Biochemistry Laboratory is a multidisciplinary wet lab facility that houses state-of-the-art equipment where researchers measure a wide variety of biomarkers for health and disease in the exciting fields of biomedical-, nutrition-, and exercise-related research. Biochemistry Lab investigators utilize a diverse range of techniques, including cell culture, chromatography, gene and protein expression, and spectroscopy.
The Biochemistry Lab is a prominent and essential fixture in the training of undergraduate and graduate students for careers related to the biomedical and nutrition sciences (biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, immunology, microbiology, neurochemistry, etc.). Our students acquire extensive experience working with biomolecules that provides them the skills needed for future research participation at the undergraduate and/or graduate level and for careers in the biomedical and nutrition sciences.
